Many of the links in this pendant are inspired by a Victorian metal chain I found many years ago whilst mudlarking and searching the shores in Newlyn, Cornwall. I picked up two, one chain incredibly thick and heavy, and this one with thinner, more irregular links. This chain is the inspiration behind all the similar pendants in this series.
Almost all the components were produced using the Sand Casting method using a wax mould I formed by hand, including the T-bar fastening. There are some hammered silver wire links within the piece, attached to some 6.5mm oval Belcher chain. It is a heavy piece, so not for the faint hearted, but it is one of a kind, never to be repeated or seen on anyone else. It is made from 925 recycled Sterling Silver and is fully hallmarked. The length of the piece is 20 inches and weighs 105g. I would describe it as a humble statement piece, simple and unfussy but slightly 'out there'. As with all my pieces, they will not be highly polished and the silver will tarnish over time, but in my view this is a bonus.

With most of my pieces I do not aim to produce highly polished creations. The Silver will tarnish over time, but if this is not a look you like there is lots of information available on 'at home' methods for cleaning, much of which can be found in your kitchen cupboards, or alternatively a ready made solution can be purchased.
