These pieces are an indulgence of many things I enjoy, combining collage, vintage photos, ephemera, mark-making and rust. The fabric and much of the papers used in the books have previously been dyed with rust, a serendipitous exercise; the reveal being a fun part of the process. The framed, altered photos and tags delve into what could be.....And have I indeed got it right? If the often staunch subjects had a free rein would they become the person I have created? These pieces are one-offs, using original vintage photos, never to be re-created....
