I come from mining stock, Bodmin Moor holding a special place for me.... My Paternal Great, Great Grandfather mined the copper at Caradon, whilst my Maternal ancestors did the same in Penwith. I like the land rather than the sea, though salvage from wrecks appeal, as does the detritus found on our shores and in our countryside. I like peeling paint, rusty metal, lichen, moss, old photographs and all things weathered. I ponder what's around me before taking that creative leap where I endeavour to produce work that hints at the textures and life that surrounds me.

I am a multidisciplinary Cornish artist with a background in Ceramics but with a main focus on Jewellery, Collage and Assemblage. My work is inspired by my Cornish surroundings, the textures and materials around me. I love found objects, ephemera, fabric and all things rusty. I like searching the Cornish countryside for other peoples' rubbish. I use a variety of mediums to create unique works in silver, on paper, board as well as altered books and photos. It doesn't appeal to me to produce what I would consider pretty, shiny or perfect looking pieces of work. I like to create things that look slightly distressed and natural looking, celebrating both imperfection and difference.
I live with my three dogs and I am guardian and keeper to a flightless Crow called Atticus, a flightless Starling called Pea and an imprinted Sparrow called Rhubarb... However, please note, none of my feathered friends will ever be used for jewellery....
